Located in Virgil, a small town within Niagara-On-The-Lake, Heritage Dental Hygiene offers oral hygiene treatment services including assessment, scaling, teeth polishing and whitening, fluoride, and necessary referrals to other health care providers.
In September 2007 the Ontario Legislature passed the third reading of Bill 171 that would allow qualifying Dental Hygienists to practice dental hygiene without the standing order of a Dentist. In November of 2007 Amie Banting (owner) was granted her Self Initiation Status Seal from The College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario. The Self Initiation designation allows for the people of Ontario to have increased access to preventative oral health care where and by whom they choose. Amie embraced a new challenge and opened Heritage Dental Hygiene – one of the first independent dental hygiene clinics in June of 2008.
